Fourth Anniversary

Still going strong.  Zero issues in the knee version 2.0.  Good luck people, and ask questions if you have them.

  1. Hi, can i check w you. When you went ahead to do the revision meniscus transplant, was there cartilage degeneration or it was all good?

I had one LM transplant in 2014 but now, the transplant has significantly reduced in size and there are some osteoarthritic changes like cartilage thinning and bone spurs.

Im considering a revision LM transplant too

  2. I had minimal articular cartilage damage, mostly behind my knee cap. My revision was due to a later injury where I tore my graft. No more damage to those surfaces were discovered during my second surgery.

  3. Hi! I'm having a lateral meniscus transplant soon (hopefully after this covid situation). I have a few questions for you if I don't bother. How was your rehab, what did you do during that time? Are you able to lift weights (squatting, deadlifing)? Can you burpee and running at times? Thank you for your patience!

    1. If you read through my blog, it goes into a lot of detail on your questions. I squat, deadlift, and can do burpees. I don't run much, but can. Good luck.

  4. Hi Rich. Its nice to see you're doing well. As someone with meniscus issues I find your recovery quite inspiring.

I just had a question regarding your range of motion. After your meniscus allograft, did you (re)gain full weight bearing flexion? Can you now sit on your heels and do full ROM squats?

    Best regards
